In the last ten years, Higgins has been active internationally, in the Mail-Art Network, producing over 700 different sheets of stamps, usually in editions of 100. Locally, he has been active at the Rivington School in N.Y.C., painting, welding & black-smithing. He has had four one-man shows: Two at the Gracie Mansion Gallery, N.Y.C., & two at Sam Davidson Gallery, Seattle, WA. Over the last three years, he has been painting Fire Cracker Label Paintings. These 16” by 18” acrylic paintings on canvas board are attached to cardboard tubes that red fabric has been stretched over – giving them a 3-D quality. |
